These statistics are off.
I have personally called the police 5-6 times since 9/06. However they have only bothered to come twice, both for noise problems in the middle of the night, most recently in July 07. Once they only drove around the building, ignoring me as I attempted to flag them down (November 06).
I have called 6 times for noise disturbance, once for a drug deal going down by the maintenance door, and once for my car getting broken into.
When I call I have learned to ask for dispatch and then to request for a car to be sent.
One positive thing is that I did see a bicycle officer catch a hooker smoking crack in the stairwell in the backyard of building D.
