Garbage

FRM is allowing the dumpster to overflow without being emptied on a regular enough basis. This is inviting to the rats in the city. The City of Providence does have a signficant rat problem and they have been seen in the past running along the side of the building closest to Westfield Street. By allowing the dumpster to be overflowing and by people throwing their garbage on the ground and not in the dumpster is inviting the rodents to reside at Westfield. Be sure to make room at your table for one more as they will be moving in soon unless FRM gets ahold of this. By the way, FRM is responsible for keeping that dumpster area clean at all times. Here is the link to the tenant law as it applies in Rhode Island. http://www.uri.edu/commuter_housing/landlordtenant.pdf

'allowing' is a bit of stretch.

there are people (those in the house directly across dexter i believe) who are hauling in their trash into our dumpster. this obviously contributes to the problem.

there are also the tenants with stickers who are parking in front of the dumpster on a regular basis. when this happens the trash company will not pick up, which leads to build up. unfortunately these people are parked there after the trash company comes, but leave before brian gets in.

if brian isnt made aware of such a problem he can do nothing about it. thusly i will make sure i make a comment about to to him the next time i see him.

the only time i have noticed a build of trash is after someone moves, the night before pick up, or when service hasnt happened because of an irresponsible tenant.

i dont think it is fair to ask the property managers to walk the grounds or watch the new cameras 24 hours a day.

the best way to get results is by informing management of the issues in a friendly and professional manner.

in the past i have mentioned some things to deb, nanci, and/or brian about something i figured they knew about, but really they werent aware. after mentioning the issue(s) to them in the aforementioned manner i noticed results in an appropriate amount of time. if not, i was given acknowledgment (more so by brian than the others) and told it would be looked into - much to my satisfaction.

Hello Zachary. Thanks for the input. I too have spoken with the management company in the past regarding the trash issue. Certainly, there is to be more trash when someone moves in. I do believe that some of the neighbors may be placing their items in the dumpster too. I agree as well that the management company cannot patrol the area 24 hours a day. However, by not planning that move ins will occur and by not being consistent on the parking situation, this causes the dumpster to not be emptied. I believe that the dumpster is emptied twice a week. I do not know when those days are. Perhaps it is the timing of the emptying of the dumpsters. Perhaps changing the day of the trash collection might alleviate this situation. However, the end result is that we will get more rats if this is not taken care of. Certainly, leaving the trash on the outside of the dumpster OR on the inside grounds is not the answer and does not help the management company with maintaining sanitation.
